Word of the Year

For the last couple of years, I have not done resolutions for the new year, but I have tried to come up with a word of the year. I started this after I participated in a couple of different online groups. I can’t remember where I first heard about “the word of the year”, I know one place was 100 mandalas. I participated in a group mandala project which was all about the word of the year. This year, I plan to choose 1 or more words of the year that will help me focus on something throughout the new year.

I have about another 4 weeks until the first of the new year. There is nothing wrong with figuring out my word of the year now and even starting to work, focus, or think about how those words are going to impact your life, what changes you are going to make throughout the year.

What words do I want to use for my words of the year? How am I going to focus on these words and how will they make changes in my life? How do I want to creatively show these words? Do I want to use a mandala? Do I want to draw what the words mean? Do I want to do it all and see where it takes me?

My words are going to be change, nature, spirituality, creativity, mindfulness, and holistic health. These are words that mean something to me. These words are things that are my passions. These words are things that keep coming back to me.

For me, the next step is to figure out how these words are going to potentially look for me. I am taking part in a dream wheel circle and as I write this, I am thinking about my mandala practice, vision boards, drawing, and a dream wheel. I think I need to take time to express these words in multiple different ways and to make them be a huge part of my life using different modalities and different things that are part of my passions.

Do you do a word/words of the year? Do you do resolutions?
